November is National Family Caregivers Month, a time for us to remember Caregivers, especially those caregiving for our loved ones with breast cancer.

Caregiving is sometimes a profession and life-calling, while other times it’s an unforeseen responsibility. Either way, it’s often a thankless job, which is why we want to encourage a deeper sense of gratitude this November–a natural focus with Thanksgiving–for anyone acting as a Caregiver in your life. This is the time to say “Thank You” to these amazing people!

Here are a few ways you can exercise gratitude for Caregivers this November:

1. Write “Thank You/Appreciation Notes”

It’s already a special thing to receive a handwritten card these days, but words of affirmation and recognition can be so meaningful. Not only will this bless the recipient, it will bless you. Life slows down when you stop to write, and focusing on all the reasons why you appreciate someone is good for the soul.

2. Provide a meal or gift

Practical and tangible reminders are some of the best ways to show you care. Home-cooked meals nourish the soul, but if you can’t cook, then a night-out or take-out certainly speaks love and care, too. If you live too far away, consider giving a gift that is a reminder to rest, like a For the Girls pink wind chime–now with a brand new look and sound. A portion of all proceeds are donated to breast cancer research and treatment.

3. Pray or send loving thoughts

Taking time to reflect on your love for someone not only does you good, but magnifies the presence of love in the world. Whether or not you are a praying person, spend time holding this person in your heart and thoughts, cultivating gratefulness for their life and the care they give tirelessly.
