When you purchase a set of For the Girls^® pink wind chimes from Wind River, 50% of all sales is donated to organizations who seek a cure for and promote awareness of breast cancer. Primarily, Wind River partners with two exceptional charities: Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Joy to Life Foundation, and we’d like to take a moment to highlight the good work these organizations do.

• The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) is the highest-rated breast cancer organization in this country, and was the first breast cancer organization dedicated exclusively to research. BCRF has been a part of every major breakthrough in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, metastasis, and survivorship since its founding in 1993. Following their timeline of major research breakthroughs, it’s clear their robust efforts to fund breast cancer research worldwide have aided the 40% decrease in breast cancer deaths since 1989.

In 2021-2022, BCRF is awarding $47.5 million to 250 scientists from top universities and medical institutions around the world. Additionally, they are focusing their research towards metastasis with the largest privately funded research project focused on metastasis in the world. While there is treatment for metastatic breast cancer, there still isn’t a cure. It is the leading cause of breast cancer deaths. Their research is the reason so many have conquered this horrible disease AND will conquer this disease.

• The Joy to Life Foundation provides mammograms, screenings, and physician visits to the underserved in Alabama. They have expanded the work of the ABCCEDP (The Alabama Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program) to fund detection services for women in need. Since their founding in 2001, hundreds of cancers have been diagnosed and treated, saving lives, families, and communities!

From global organizations like BCRF to local ones like Joy to Life Foundation, there are so many people and organizations pouring their lives into this life-saving work to end breast cancer. We are so inspired and grateful to partner with them in our work, too. It makes our pink wind chimes mean more, because each tone is a reminder of the many hands coming together to help heal.
