Support systems are important for those battling serious illnesses like breast cancer. These systems can help patients stay motivated and strong through their fight, in addition to managing stress and other emotions associated with battling breast cancer.

Being a part of a patient’s support system can also be challenging. Those who have a loved one with breast cancer often deal with psychological trauma and stress of their own as they also cope with the disease. It is also common for caregivers and supporters to put their own emotions and needs aside to focus on their loved one.

If you, or someone you know is a part of a breast cancer patient’s support system, look at our Cancer Resources, including information from the American Cancer Society, National Cancer Institute, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

These resources can provide you and your loved one with safe, verifiable information on breast cancer in addition to information about research, treatment and support groups.

You can also take a look at our previous blog on Patient Needs to learn about organizations that assist breast cancer patients with day- to- day activities and provide items needed as they go through treatment.

We are grateful for our support systems, and there are resources to help.

Have a blessed day.
